DAY 1 – Toronto* to Lima, Peru Fly from Toronto* to Lima, Peru and transfer to your hotel.
DAY 2 – Lima, Peru Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an exciting day in this captivating Colonial capital. Founded in 1535, Lima was the capital of Spain’s South American empire for 300 years and is known as the “City of Kings”. Enjoy a morning city tour featuring the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the 17th century Baroque Cathedral, the 17thcentury Church of San Francisco, and finally the Palacio de Torre Tagle, Lima’s most elegant Colonial mansion. Enjoy the rest of day at leisure. (B)
DAY 3 – Lima - Cuzco Fly to Cuzco then enjoy an afternoon excursion including an historic city tour. Visit nearby sites of Sacsayhuamán, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Cuzco is a charming city whose Incan and Spanish roots are evidenced today by its terra-cotta roofs and cobblestone streets. (B)
DAY 4 – Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Cuzco Early in the morning, journey to the fabled “Lost City of the Incas” by train. Arguably the most important archeological site in South America, its beauty is truly spectacular. Following a guided tour of the ruins, enjoy lunch then return to Cuzco by evening. (B/L)
DAY 5 – Cuzco – Pisac Urubamba Valley – Cuzco Today’s full-day excursion includes the colonial town of Pisac followed by the ruins of Ollantaytambo, a well-preserved Inca site in the Urubamba Valley – also known as the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”. Later, return to Cuzco via Lake Huayro and Izcuchaca. (B/L)
DAY 6 – Cuzco - Puno After an early breakfast, depart for an 11-hour train journey to Puno, the folklore capital of Peru. Here, traits of the Aymaran, Quechuan and Spanish cultures merge. (B/L)
DAY 7 – Puno – Lake Titicaca – Puno After an early morning departure, enjoy a morning excursion to the incredible floating Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca, near the Bolivian border. After this tour, visit Taquile Island, where the population consists of the Aymara, dedicated mostly to agriculture. The ancestral customs of their residents, the way of life and landscapes, will make your visit full of exciting moments. (B)
DAY 8 – Puno – Lima Our flight to Lima is followed by an evening at your leisure. (B)
DAY 9 – Lima – Ica – Paracas Travel by bus to Ica. After checking into your hotel, venture out for an exciting bird’s-eye view of one of the world’s greatest archeological mysteries – the Nazca Lines. (B)
DAY 10 – Paracas - Lima Your morning is highlighted by a visit to the Paracas National Reserve – Peru’s first marine conservation center boasting one of the highest concentrations of marine birds on the planet. Later, continue to Lima for your final overnight. (B)
DAY 11 – Lima – North America Late evening transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Toronto* via a gateway in the USA. (B)
