Iceland is a country known for its natural wonders: glaciers, active volcanoes, black-sand beaches, geothermal areas, roaring rivers, majestic waterfalls, and beautiful lakes. On this Iceland tour, you will start and end in Reykjavik, and you'll witness these natural wonders while enjoying fun and unique experiences.
Scenic highlights include mighty Gullfoss waterfall and Goðafoss, known as the "Waterfall of the Gods." Take pictures at Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe (road conditions permitting). Drive by Eyjafjallajökull volcano, well known for the eruption that generated the massive ash cloud in 2010, and through the national park at Skaftafell to the Vik area. Enjoy a scenic drive to the lovely blue Lake Mývatn. In one of Iceland's prettiest areas and with volcanic craters throughout the lake, it is teeming with bird life and is known for its geothermal activity. Also watch how Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull, flows into Lake Jökulsárlón, forming icebergs.

Day 01: August 28, 2024 - Depart North America
Depart North America aboard flight to for Iceland.
Day 02: August 29, 2024 - Arrive Iceland/Geysir Area. [B/D]
Early morning arrival into Iceland. Meet with local guide and drive to for light-breakfast. Visit Secret Lagoon for bathing before lunch and visit at Friðheimar Farm. Afternoon visit at Gullfoss waterfall before checking in at Hotel Geysir, near the falls.
Day 03: August 30, 2024 - Reykjavik - Board “Windstar Cruise” [B/D]
Walk with the guide over to Geysir area where the spouting geysir Strokkur erupts every 5-10 min. Drive to Gullfoss waterfall for visit. Continue to Laugarvatn Village for a Geothermal bakery experience, get to know how they have been using geothermal heating for baking and tasting a newly geothermal baked rye-bread. Next stop is at Thingvellir National Park, before continuing to Reykjavík. Arrive at cruise ship terminal around 1pm and board “WindStar Cruise - Pride”, your home for the next 8 days. Sail at 5pm.
Day 04: August 31, 2024 - HEIMAEY ISLAND, ICELAND [B/L/D]
From 10:00am till 5:00pm. Witness a world still in transition. Circle Surtsey Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which rose from the sea in the 1960s. Next up, Heimaey, where a volcanic eruption created a modern-day Pompeii in 1973.
Day 05: September 01, 2024 - SEYDISFJORDUR, ICELAND [B/L/D]
Arrive at 6:00;m and overnight in this port.
Day 06: September 02, 2024 - SEYDISFJORDUR, ICELAND [B/L/D]
Depart at 1:30pm.
Day 07: September 03, 2024 - AKUREYRI, ICELAND [B/L/D]

Day 08: September 04, 2024 - ISAFJORDUR, ICELAND [B/L/D]
From 12:00pm till 8:30pm. Small and easily walkable Isafjordur has one of the largest fisheries in Iceland. But the sever decline of the fishing industry has caused Isafjordur to look elsewhere for work. Despite its small size, this town has a school of music and has become a center for alternative music and they host a yearly festival that provides a platform for local musicians, band from around Iceland and the world to perform.
Day 09: September 05, 2024 - GRUNDARFJORDUR, ICELAND [B/L/D]
From 9:00am till 6:00pm.
Day 10: September 06, 2024 - REYKJAVIK, ICELAND / END OF TOUR [B]
Arrive at 7:00am. Group met at port at 8:30am by local guide & driver. A city tour of Reykjavík, including a stop at Perlan Observation decks. A short walk in the heart of the city center with free time to explore on your own. Mid-afternoon transfer to the international airport for your flight back to Canada.
