Day 1:  Fri: Feb 14, 2020:  Depart North America    [IFM]
Depart North America on an overnight flight into Europe.

Day 2: Sat: Feb 15, 2020:   Europe ~ Nairobi, Kenya     [IFM]
Depart the European city and fly to Nairobi, Kenya, the capital of the country.
You are met with a special welcome then transferred to the Sarova Stanley Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3:  Sun: Feb 16, 2020: Nairobi ~ Samburu, Elephant Bedroom Camp, Kenya   [B/L/D]
Today, drive north from Nairobi, crossing over the equator and stopping for lunch as well as a farm visit on the way to the Elephant Bedroom Camp for a two night stay.  This small and exclusive safari camp is located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.  Here guests are truly at one with nature as the camp is regularly visited by elephant and game which shelter under the trees.  Each tented bedroom is nicely furnished in a rustic African style while offering every comfort expected of a luxury safari camp.  All tents have electricity and en suite facilities with hot and cold running water.  The food and service at Elephant Bedroom Camp are of a high standard.  A generous breakfast and lunch (three courses) are served outside when possible.  The four course evening meal is either taken by candle-light in the open-front dining area or al fresco.  Enjoy your first game drive as you enter the Samburu Game Reserve and make your way to the Elephant Bedroom Camp.

Day 4:  Mon: Feb 17, 2020:  Samburu Game Reserve/Elephant Bedroom Camp     [B/L/D]
This is a full day at the Samburu Game Reserve. There will be both a morning and an  afternoon game drive, in search of game found only north of the equator, such as:  long necked Gerenuk, Grevy Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the blue shanked Somali Ostrich and of course the Big Five:  Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Cape Buffalo and Leopard.  The Ewaso Nyiro River is an oasis-like setting that attracts a myriad of birds and wildlife.  There is an optional opportunity to visit a local village after breakfast where guests can learn more about Samburu culture.  The evening game drive will take in a scenic point to observe the sun setting over the African plains.  *There is an option to visit the Samburu Manyatta to see how the tribe lives in these harsh surroundings.

Day 5:  Tue: Feb 18, 2020:  Elephant Bedroom Camp~Lake Naivasha, Kenya         [B/L/D]
After breakfast, depart the Elephant Bedroom Camp and drive past Thompson Falls on the way to Lake Naivasha.  Check into the Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge for a 2-night stay. Balance of day to enjoy the lodge. Watch for the animals that come to eat on the lawns in the evenings. 

Day 6:  Wed: Feb 19, 2020:  Lake Naivasha, Kenya                                    [B/L/D]
This morning, visit one of the many greenhouses in the region and a major supplier of  roses to the world.  There are over 5,000 acres of greenhouses dotting the countryside near the equator in Kenya.  Return to Lake Naivasha Simba lodge for lunch.  A true highlight this afternoon is the boat ride on the lake, cruising amidst the many hippos that populate the lake.  This evening is topped off with an authentic “Bush Dinner”.

Day 7: Thu: Feb 20, 2020: Lake Naivasha ~ Masai Mara, Kenya                               [B/L/D]
Departing Lake Naivasha after breakfast, you travel through the Great Rift Valley as you make your way onto the Masai Mara and a 2-night stay at the Tipilikwani Tented Camp.  After lunch at the lodge, go on a game drive that will take you onto an area of Kenya that can have a super abundance of wildlife.   Some animals you can see include the Maasi   giraffes and the resident wildebeests.   Dinner and overnight at the lodge.  

Day 8: Fri: Feb 21, 2020: Masai Mara Tipilikwani Lodge, Kenya      [B/L/D]
AMAKI! (Awake) Early wakeup with a cup of Africa coffee or tea then head out for an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari flight launch site for an unforgettable experience, gliding over the Masai Mara plains.  Upon landing out on these plains, a scrumptious bush    breakfast has been set up for you to enjoy followed by an extended game drive on the   Masai Mara, always be on the lookout for the “Big Five”.  Back at camp in time for lunch and the rest of the afternoon to relax and enjoy the camp at leisure.
Those not doing the Balloon Safari will depart lodge after breakfast and join the others on an extended game drive on the Masai Mara.  Back at camp in time for lunch and the rest of the afternoon to relax and enjoy the camp at leisure.

Day 9: Fri: Feb 22, 2020: Masai Mara , Kenya ~ Duluti Lodge, Tanzania             [B/L/D]
Breakfast at the camp then say farewell to the staff at Tipilikwani camp and transfer to the airstrip for a flight from the Masai Mara into the city of Nairobi.  Friendly staff will meet you and take you to the Carnivore restaurant for lunch.  You then transfer to the international airport for a flight that will take you from Kenya and into Tanzania.  You are met upon your arrival into Tanzania and taken to the Lake Duluti Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. 

Day 10: Sun: Feb 23, 2020:  Lake Duluti Serena Lodge ~ Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge  [B/L/D]
Today you travel through the countryside of Tanzania toward the lodge at Lake Manyara which is situated on the rim of the Great Rift Valley. This valley runs all the way from central Africa to the Dead Sea in Israel.  Lake Manyara is home to an abundance of bird and wild life, including the tree climbing lion which you may see on an afternoon safari.  Spend the night at the lodge.

Day 11: Mon: Feb 24, 2020:  Lake Manyara ~ Masek Tented Camp /Serengeti Area      [B/L/D]
Today you travel toward the famed Serengeti region of the country. This area will have some of the highest concentration of animals in all of Tanzania.  You arrive at Lake Masek Tented Camp in time for lunch and check in for a 2-night stay.  This exclusive luxury camp is in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area overlooking Lake Masek.  This unique location is witness to the Wildebeest Migration which takes place from December to April each year. There is resident Big 5 game all year round in the area as well.  There will be an afternoon game drive in the  region then return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Tue: Feb 25, 2020:  Serengeti Area [B/L/D]
A full day to enjoy the game viewing and a picnic lunch in the Serengeti,  from the migration of the wildebeest to the black- mane lions, cheetahs, elephants and spotted hyena among others.  The Serengeti spans approximately 30,000 sq. km and hosts the largest mammal migration in the world, which is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as one of the ten  Natural Wonders of the World.  Return for dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 13: Wed: Feb 26, 2020:  Masek Tented Camp ~ Neptune Lodge Ngorongoro  [B/L/D]
Early this morning there is the option of taking a Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Serengeti.  Suspended in a basket fixed beneath the rainbow-coloured canopy, you're off  for a game-viewing adventure like no other. At the end of the flight, everyone is treated to a champagne breakfast in the bush.  Return to camp to pick up those guest that stayed behind and drive to the Neptune Ngorogongoro Luxury Lodge for a 2-night stay.  The afternoon is a leisure to relax, use the pools or perhaps enjoy a massage. NOTE:  A warm jacket/sweater is highly recommended in this area as evening do get cool.

Day 14: Thu: Feb 27, 2020:  Neptune Lodge Ngorongoro ~ Ngorongoro Crater [B/L/D]
After breakfast, you descend some 600 m onto the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater floor  the crater is home to an abundance of wildlife and is a photographer’s paradise.  This will be a full day of game-viewing with a picnic lunch in the crater.  Ascend from the crater later in the afternoon and overnight at the lodge once more.

Day 15: Fri: Feb 28, 2020: Ngorogongoro - Arusha - Johannesburg, South Africa [B/L/IFM] 
Depart the Neptune Lodge and return to Arusha for lunch.  This afternoon, check into the flight to South Africa for the next leg of this Great Adventure!  At the Johannesburg Tambo Airport our guide will escort you to the airport hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 16: Sat: Feb 29, 2020: Johannesburg, South Africa - Kasane, Botswana [B/L/D]  
This morning, fly to Kasane, Botswana and transfer to the Chobe Bush Lodge for a 3-night stay. Picture yourself in the large swimming pool, with a stunning African sunset as a backdrop, or on the outside deck with fresh coffee, while the morning sun warms your face and birds serenade you with song.  The Chobe Bush Lodge is a luxurious retreat in the middle of the bush, where you get to see some of the most un-spoilt natural splendor and wildlife of Africa. 

Day 17: Sun: Mar 01, 2020: Chobe Bush Lodge [B/L/D]
The lodge is a mere 150m from the Chobe River and provides easy access into the Chobe National Park. Included this day will be a boat cruise, a game drive and a 2-hour fishing excursion to try your hand at catching a tiger fish.

Day 18: Mon: Mar 02, 2020: Chobe Bush Lodge [B/L/D]
Today will be another boat cruise and game drive plus a visit to a Namibian village.  There also will be leisure time to enjoy the lodge and all it has to offer.

Day 19: Tue: Mar 03, 2020:  Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe [B/L/D]
Travel from Chobe to Victoria Falls by road and check into the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for a 3-night stay.  The lodge is situated on a plateau that forms the natural boundary to the unfenced Zambezi National Park and is close to the     thundering Victoria Falls.

Day 20: Wed: Mar 04, 2020: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe [B/L/D]
A morning optional helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls. Enjoy a guided tour of the majestic Victoria Falls and encompassing nature reserve. The falls can be heard from miles around as tons of water plunge over the chasm that is nearly 2 km wide and falls into the Zambezi River below.  The tour takes you to the best points of this iconic waterfall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Day 21: Thu: Mar 05, 2020:  Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe [B/L/D]
Tours to a tobacco and banana farm are planned for this day.  The highlight will be lunch at the Elephant Café. This exclusive restaurant offers local food and fine wines plus an ambience that is out of this world.  Return to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge to enjoy for leisure time and a Farewell Boma Dinner.  A traditional story teller will add the extra element of intrigue and drama to the evening.  Face painting is optional.

Day 22: Fri: Mar 06, 2020: Victoria Falls - Flight to North America [B/IFM]
Transfer to the Victoria Falls Airport for a flight back to Johannesburg and a connecting flight back to North America.

Day 23: Sat: Mar 07, 2020 North America and End of Tour  [IFM]
Arrive back into North America.
