Day 1 - Jan 06, 2019: Sun – QUEENSTOWN, NZ
Arrive Queenstown on the South Island.  Check into a centrally located hotel for a 2-night stay. The balance of the afternoon is free to rest and relax before joining your fellow travelers for “Welcome Dinner” in the “Skyline Restaurant”. [D] **

Day 2 - Jan 07, 2019:  Mon - QUEENSTOWN
This morning, drive through the wine region to visit   a fruit stand in the Cromwell district.  A stop will be made to view the original Bungee Jumping site, then you will have the opportunity to take an optional jet boat ride (approx. $150 NZD) on the Shotover River.  Afternoon is free to explore this resort town on your own.  This evening, enjoy a relaxing cruise on a    historic coal-fired steamer, the “SS Earnslaw”, across Lake Wakatipu to the “Walter Peak Sheep Station” for dinner and sheep dog demonstration.  Return to Queenstown for the night.   [B/D]

Day 3 - Jan 08, 2019:  Tue - QUEENSTOWN ~ TE ANAU
The journey today will follow along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu and past sheep and deer farms on the way to Te Anau. From here you enter Fordland's National Park.  You will cross over mountain passes and through scenic valleys enroute to Milford Sound. Enjoy a luncheon cruise on this breath-taking fjord, watching for numerous fur seals sunning themselves on the rocks and also view numerous waterfalls.  Your overnight stay is in Te Anau.     [B/L]

Day 4 - Jan 09, 2019: Wed - TE ANAU ~  DUNEDIN
Traveling towards the Gore area, you visit a local dairy located in the rolling countryside before continuing unto the Scottish city of Dunedin for an overnight stay.  Known as the Edinburgh of New Zealand, Dunedin wears the country's Scottish heritage with pride. Dinner at the hotel this evening. [B/D]

Day 5 - Jan 10, 2019: Thu - DUNEDIN~ MT COOK REGION
This morning you visit “Baldwin Street”, the world's steepest residential street with an opportunity to climb up the street if you so wish.   Visit the "Moeraki  Boulders",  mysteriously spherical shaped stones scattered across a beach, and each weighing several tones and up to two metres high.  Visit a microbrewery for lunch and tasting then travel   towards the Mt Cook region to  visit to a high country merino sheep and cattle station.  Check into hotel for an overnight stay. Day 6 - Jan 11, 2019: Fri - MT COOK REGION ~ ASHBURTON
Weather permitting, you get to view Mount Cook,  the tallest mountain in New Zealand, this morning.  The drive today will take you into the Geraldine area, a beautiful, sub alpine village in Canterbury, New Zealand.  Visit the “Tin Shed” with an extensive range of quality New Zealand-made merino woolen products for sale.  Arrive at Ashburton for an overnight stay in this vital agricultural area.   [B/D]

Day 7 - Jan 12, 2019:  Sat – ASHBURTON / HOME STAY
Today you visit a wheat and white clover farm in the morning situated on the Canterbury Plains.  The Canterbury Plains is a major agricultural area that utilizes irrigation farming and is considered the ‘bread bowl’ region of New Zealand.  A highlight today is having lunch with a farm host.   Later this afternoon, meet your host farm family in the town of Ashburton and travel with them for an overnight home-stay experience and enjoy the hospitality shown by the New Zealand people. Day 8 - Jan 13, 2019:  Sun – ASHBURTON ~  ROTORUA
Today you travel to Christchurch for a short city tour and a visit to the Botanical Gardens.  Later, fly to Rotorua on the North Island and check into the hotel for a 2 night stay.  This evening, enjoy a cultural experience at a “Maori Hangi Feast and Concert” at the hotel.   [B/D]

Day 9 - Jan 14, 2019: Mon - ROTORUA
A morning visit to an authentic “Maori Village” for a guided tour with one of the elders.  See first hand how the local native Maori people use the natural hot water and steam from deep in the earth to cook their food and heat their homes.  From there, it is a short drive “Rainbow Springs” to see the huge trout as well as get a glimpse of the elusive “Kiwi” bird.  Then it is off to the “Agrodome”, for a “sheep show” and “sheep dog demonstration”.  This is followed by a “farm wagon tour” to see kiwi fruit on the vine.  Rest of the day at leisure.  [B]

Day 10 - Jan 15, 2019:  Tue – ROTORUA ~ RURAL HOME STAY/CAMBRIDGE REGION
A morning visit  to the “Waitomo Glow Worm Caves”.  Visit a rural town and have lunch on your own before meeting your host families in the area for a tour, dinner and an overnight stay. [B/D]

Day 11 - Jan 16, 2019:  Wed – CAMBRIDGE ~  AUCKLAND
Visit a deer farm this morning that raises prize stags for their antlers.  Travel to a local winery for lunch then continue driving to Auckland.  Known as the “City of Sails”, Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city.  Check into hotel for a 2 night stay.  [B/L]

Day 12 - Jan 17, 2019:  Thu - AUCKLAND
A morning visit to the “Kelly Tarlton Underwater World” with its live penguin and sharks displays. Drive to Davenport, across the bay from the city of Auckland, for lunch and time on your own. Take a ferry back to the city center and make your own way back to the hotel.  Balance of the afternoon is free to explore on your own before enjoying a “Farewell to New Zealand Dinner” this evening.  [B/D]

Day 13 - Jan 18, 2019: Fri - END OF TOUR **
Today your tour comes to an end.
You may wish to extend your stay with a 3-day package to the Bay of Islands or continue to Australia.
