Day 1: June 05, 2018: Depart North America for Romania [IFM]
An overnight flightfrom North America to Bucharest, Romania the vibrant capital situated along the Danube River.
Day 2: June 06, 2018: Bucharest, Romania [IFM/D]
Arrive at the Bucharest airport today then transfer to a downtown hotel for a 2-night stay. Rest of the day to relax before enjoying a “Welcome Dinner” this evening.
Day 3: June 07, 2018: Bucharest, Romania [B/L/D]
After breakfast, transfer to a dairy farm in Bucharest’s outskirts. This dairy farm is part of the elite farms for Holstein breed in Romania. It started with Holstein cows brought from Denmark. Today there are about 500 heads, producing more than 5,000 liters of milk every day. Return to Bucharest and have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch visit the Palace of Parliament – the 2nd largest building in the world after the Pentagon and according to Guinness Book of World records, it is the largest civilian, most expensive administrative and heaviest building in the world. Enjoy a traditional dinner this evening.
Day 4: June 08, 2018: Bucharest - Brasov, Romania [B/L/D]
After breakfast at the hotel, travel north to the Transylvania region of the country. Cross the South Plain and visit a cereal grain farm producing wheat, corn, barley and rape. Enjoy lunch at a local winery with wine tasting. This afternoon enter the famous Transylvania region of myths, legends and traditions. Arrive at Brasov, a beautiful medieval city, in the Southern Carpathian Mountains, for a 2-night stay. Dinner this evening at a local restaurant.
Day 5: June 09, 2018: Brasov, Romania [B/L/D]
Brasov is known for potatoes and for cow and sheep breeding. This morning, visit a local farm that raises sheep, cows, plus have arable land and pasture. Visit the fully restored Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle. Visit the Rhein wine cellars for tasting and lunch. Return to Brasov for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: June 10, 2018: Brasov - Viscri, Romania (Home Stay) [B/L/D]
This morning’s visit will include a local market as well as a dairy. Travel to Viscri under the UNESCO listing with more than 150 fortified churches and villages. Tour this Saxon village, have lunch prepared by the locals and check out several peasant houses. Take a ride on a horse-drawn cart around the village, which is a common means of transportation for the locals. Dinner and overnight in a peasant house.

Day 7: June 11, 2018: Viscri - Sibu, Romania [B/L/D]
After breakfast at the hotel, travel towards Sighisoara, a medieval citadel included in the UNESCO heritage listing and continuously inhabited since the 13th century. Lunch will be in the house where Vlad Tepes-Vlad the Impaler- Dracula was born. The tours will include Karpaten Meet Farm– the biggest beef farm in Romania with angus beef cattle. Lunch will be at the farm then continue to Sibu city, named the European city of culture in 2017. The city is packed full of fascinating sites to explore. Overnight here.
Day 8: June 12, 2018: Sibu - Bucharest, Romania-Budapest, Hungary [B/L/D]
This morning, return to Bucharest with lunch enroute. This afternoon fly to Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary, meet the local guide and transfer to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9: June 13, 2018: Budapest - Kecskemet, Hungary [B/D/L]
Following breakfast at the hotel, travel to Lajosmizse to visit a Charolaise cattle operation. Also learn the families unique technique for creating paprika. Travel to Kecskemet and have lunch in a traditional gypsy restaurant. Tour the city before checking into hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: June 14, 2018: Kecskemet - Tiszafured, Hungary [B/L/D]
Today is all about agriculture including a visit to a bio-farm producing over 600 hectares of organic vegetables. The facility has food processing methods such as freezing, dehydrating and juicing for both the local and European markets.
Day 11: June 15, 2018: Tiszafured - Egar, Hungary [B/L/D]
Today, visit the a nature and conservation reserve-the first National Park in Hungary. Enjoy a traditional lunch before traveling to Noszvaj to visit the caves and wine cellars of the Thummerer Valley. Enjoy an afternoon with wine tasting and dinner in a 100 year old cellar. Overnight in Eager. (Please Note: The hotel used this evening is the best in the region)
Day 12: June 16, 2018: Egar - Budapest, Hungary [B/L/D]
Breakfast at the hotel then tour the city of Egar. Travel to Szilvasvarad to visit the Lippizan horse stud and a forestry museum. Travel back to Budapest for a 3-night stay.
Day 13: June 17, 2018: Budapest, Hungary [B/L/D]
Following breakfast, travel out of the city to visit the “Enying Agricultural Corporation”, the largest in Hungary. Following lunch, visit the cropping side of the corporation. This afternoon, visit the Agatidi Distillery for tasting of some of Hungary's fine brandy. Dinner will be in a traditional Hungarian restaurant.
Day 14: June 18, 2018: Budapest, Hungary [B/L/D]
Today, visit Budapest, from the Central Market Hall to Heroes Square, City Park and more. After lunch, soak in the soothing natural hot waters of an open-air thermal pool, one of the many for which Budapest is famous for. Enjoy a “Farewell Dinner” this evening.
Day 15: June 19, 2018: End of Tour [IFM]
Early morning transfer to the Budapest airport to begin your return flights back to North America.
*NOTE: You could join a Danube River Cruise this day.
