ITINERARY

Day 01: August 13, 2027: Flight(s) from Canada [IFM]
Depart North America with an overnight flight to Switzerland.

Day 02: August 14, 2027: Luzern, Switzerland  [IFM]
Arrive Zurich, Switzerland. Meet local guide, then transfer toward the beautiful lakeside city of Lucerne for a two night stay. Enjoy free time to settle in, explore the historic streets or stroll along the waterfront as you begin your journey through Switzerland and Austria.. Transfer to Luzern and check in to hotel for the evening free to rest after your international flight. Overnight in Luzern.

Day 03: August 15, 2027: Lake Lucerne & Mount Rigi [B/L/D]
Following breakfast, enjoy a scenic boat journey across Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. Board the cogwheel train for the climb up Mount Rigi, taking in views of the lake, surrounding countryside and alpine landscapes. Lunch is served at the Rigi Kulm restaurant, followed by free time to walk to the summit and enjoy the panorama. Return to Lucerne by train and boat, then gather for a traditional Swiss fondue dinner.

Day 04: August 16, 2027: Swiss Dairy Farming & Bex Salt Mines [B/D]
After breakfast, travel to Dagmersellen to visit the Thomas Gerber dairy farm. This agricultural visit offers an opportunity to learn about the farm’s dairy operation and discuss daily management with your hosts. Continue to the Bex Salt Mines for an introduction to Switzerland’s salt-producing heritage before travelling onward to Brig, Switzerland for a two night stay.

Day 05: August 17, 2027: Zermatt & the Matterhorn [B/D]
Following breakfast, take the train to Zermatt, the alpine village beneath the iconic Matterhorn. Enjoy free time to explore its shops, cafés and mountain setting. An optional cable car excursion offers the opportunity to travel high into the surrounding mountains for spectacular alpine views. Return to Brig for the evening.

Day 06: August 18, 2027: Emmentaler Cheese & Swiss Chocolate [B/L]
After breakfast, depart Brig and travel via Sion and Vevey toward Affoltern im Emmental. Visit an Emmentaler cheese factory to discover how this celebrated Swiss cheese is produced and enjoy a tasting. Continue to Bilten for a visit to the Läderach chocolate factory, adding another distinctive Swiss food experience to the day. Travel onward to the Flumserberg area, for a two night stay.

Day 07: August 19, 2027: Swiss Alpine Countryside [B/D]
Following breakfast, transfer to Flums or Berschis, where minibuses take you to Kurhaus Sennis. Spend time discovering the Swiss alpine setting, with its mountain landscapes and pastures. Enjoy a cordon bleu lunch at the Kurhaus, followed by free time to explore and appreciate the surroundings. Return to the Flumserberg area later in the day.

Day 08: August 20, 2027: Plantahof & Austrian Juice Production [B/D]
After breakfast, travel to Landquart for a visit to Plantahof, with a focus on agricultural education and farming in Switzerland. Following lunch on the go, cross into Austria and continue to Rankweil to visit a juice factory. Learn about the processing of fruit into juice before travelling onward to Innsbruck, surrounded by the Tyrolean Alps & two nights in Innsbruck, Austria.

Day 09: August 21, 2027: Tyrolean Farming & Rural Traditions, Austria [B/D]
Following breakfast, enjoy a day exploring the agricultural traditions of the Tyrol. Begin with a visit to a cowbell producer to learn about a craft closely associated with alpine livestock farming. Continue to a family cattle farm for an introduction to its operation and daily farm life. Complete the day with a distillery visit and tasting. Dinner and overnight in Innsbruck.

Day 10: August 22, 2027: Salzburg, The Sound of Music & Brewing, Austria [B/D]
After breakfast, depart for Salzburg. Enjoy a Sound of Music tour, discovering locations associated with the beloved film while taking in the scenery of the region. Later, visit a brewery for a guided tour and learn about local brewing traditions before enjoying dinner.

Day 11: August 23, 2027: Carinthia, Landskron Castle & Fish Farming, Austria [B/D]
Following breakfast, travel south into Carinthia. Visit Landskron Castle and enjoy lunch at the castle before continuing to a fish farm. This visit introduces another aspect of Austrian food production, with an opportunity to learn about the farm’s fish-rearing practices. Continue to Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, for a two night stay.

Day 12: August 24, 2027: Lake Wörthersee, Vegetable Farming & Carinthian Cooking, Austria [B/L/D]
After breakfast, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Wörthersee. Continue to a vegetable farm to learn about its crops and production methods. Later, participate in a cooking workshop featuring traditional Carinthian Kasnudeln, regional filled pasta parcels. Discover the connection between local ingredients and the culinary traditions of Carinthia.

Day 13: August 25, 2027: Poultry Farming, Energy Innovation & Graz, Austria [B/L/D]
Following breakfast, visit a poultry farm and energy pioneer to explore poultry production and the role of energy innovation in a rural business. Continue to Graz, where free time allows you to discover the city at your own pace before gathering for dinner.

Day 14: August 26, 2027: Pumpkin Seed Oil & Field Crop Production, Austria [B]
After breakfast, visit a pumpkin seed oil producer to learn how this distinctive regional product is made. Following lunch en route, continue to a grain farm growing crops including corn and soybeans. Learn about the farm’s cropping operation before travelling to Vienna. The remainder of the day is free to begin exploring Austria’s capital.

Day 15: August 27, 2027: Vienna & the Spanish Riding School [B/D]
Following breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour introducing Vienna’s architecture, history and landmarks. Attend a performance at the Spanish Riding School, a highlight for those interested in horses and equestrian traditions. This evening, celebrate the conclusion of your agricultural journey with a farewell dinner at a traditional Heuriger wine tavern.

Day 16: August 28, 2027: Vienna - Home [B/IFM]
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Vienna Airport for flight(s) home.
