Day 01 & 02: Feb 02 & 03, 2026: Flying to Australia/Cross International Date Line
The tour begins with a flight from Canada/USA into Australia. You will cross the International Date Line and lose a day. [IFM]
Day 03: Feb 04, 2026: Arrive Sydney, AU
Arrive to Sydney, Australia and make your own way to a downtown hotel. Overnight in Sydney.
Day 04- Feb 05, 2026: Sydney - Launceston, Tasmania
Depart for the Sydney International Airport for a flight to Launceston. Launceston is located in Tasmania’s northern region. Meet group on arrival at Launceston airport and transfer to the city centre hotel. If time permits enjoy an orientation drive of the local sights including its beautiful parks and gardens. Pass by Trustee Court and Princes’ Square with its unique fountain and fine surrounding buildings. Free evening to dine out at a local pub or restaurant.
Day 05: Feb 06, 2026: Launceston - Devonport, Tasmania
Head north east on the North Coast this morning to visit a family owned and operated Angus stud committed to breeding cattle with supreme genetics to produce elite beef. Afterwards continue to the small hamlet of Hagley and visit one of the largest hazelnut groves in Australia. A family member will give you a guided tour from the groves to the range of products produced. Later visit the family owned Ashgrove Cheese making a range of cheeses for the Australian market. Whilst here see the skilled cheesemakers at work and learn about Ashgrove’s unique pasture to plate philosophy. Enjoy a cheese tasting of their various products. End the day in Devonport, a busy industrial and agricultural centre. [B/D]
Day 06: Feb 07, 2026: Devonport - Ulverstone - Devonport, Tasmania
Our first stop this morning is adjacent to the little village of Gunns Plains to get a complete rundown of a robotic dairy watching cows go through the milking process with no human involvement. Afterwards a short drive to Ulverstone for a visit to a renowned Australian brand of pickled onions. This family concern prides themselves on producing the tastiest crunchy pickled onions grown by local farmers. Later in the day visit a mixed commercial beef and prime lamb enterprise. Return to Devonport and overnight. [B/D]
Day 07: Feb 08, 2026: Devonport - Cradle Mountain - Strahan, Tasmania
Head inland this morning through the foothills of the spectacular Great Western Tiers, one of the most scenically attractive regions in Tasmania. Enjoy time in the rural hamlet of Sheffield and view the murals on the olde worlde town buildings. Continue towards Cradle Mountain to board the shuttle to visit Dove Lake. Afterwards visit Devils@Cradle in the wilderness region, the natural home of native animals including the mysterious and elusive Tasmanian Devil. Afterwards continue through the scenic wilderness area passing through the old mining towns of Rosebery, Zeehan and Queenstown enroute to our two night stay in Strahan overlooking the majestic Macquarie Harbour. Day 08: Feb 09, 2026: Strahan - Gordon River, Tasmania
Today enjoy a cruise on the iconic Gordon River in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Pass through Macquarie Harbour and see Hells Gates, aquaculture farms, a guided South Island on shore walk and stop off at a Huon Pine sawmill. Later in the day free time in Strahan before visiting the Richard Davey Amphitheatre to see the show “The Ship That Never Was”. Afterwards enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. [B/L/D]
Day 09: Feb 10, 2026: Strahan - Queenstown - Derwent Bridge - Hobart, Tasmania
First stop is at the olde worlde mining town of Queenstown with the field producing 670,000 tonnes of approximately 500,000kg of silver ore and 20,000kg of gold. Marvel at the unique town setting, wide streets and buildings from a bygone era. Continue along the Lyell Highway to Derwent Bridge to visit the Wall in the Wilderness, a local timber (Huon Pine) wooden sculpture 3 metres high and over 100 metres in length. Join the Derwent River, following this river that flows through Hobart to the sea. Enter the state capital with a brief city sights tour followed by time for private sightseeing later this afternoon. Day 10: Feb 11, 2026: Hobart, Tasmania
This morning gaze in awe at the spectacular scenery of the Tasman Peninsula and coastline. Time to stop along the way to explore places like the Tessellated Pavement at Eaglehawk Neck, the Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen. Meet your local historical guide for a walking tour of the 19th century penal settlement of Port Arthur, now an open air museum. Ruins include the penitentiary and the remnants of the Convict Church (built by convicts). See other prison buildings including solitary confinement cells in a separate prison building used to inflict mental punishment as well as floggings. Free time to stroll around this historic site, including a harbour cruise, before returning to Hobart in time for dinner. [B/D]
Day 11, 12 & 13: Feb 12, 13 & 14, 2026: Hobart to Adelaide / Indian Pacific Rail from Adelaide to Perth
Flight from Hobart to Adelaide. Board the Indian Pacific, travelling from Adelaide to Perth for a 2 night/3-day journey. This all-inclusive experience including a gourmet dinner, regionally inspired menu paired with a selection of local wines, Dinner under a million outback stars at Rawlinna. Explore the now ghost-town of Cook with timeless travel between two great cities. [3 breakfasts/2 lunches & 2 dinner]
Day 14 & 15: Feb 15 & 16, 2026: Perth & Area / Margaret River Wine Region
Enjoy a city tour of Perth. Then depart Perth and head out towards the southern rural region which is renowned for mixed cropping/sheep farming. The next two days will be spent visiting commercial grain family farm diversified with prime lamb production, sheep saleyards complex, visit a large commercial beef cattle property running a herd of over 400 breeders. The days will end in Albany on the southern coastline.[B Daily/1 lunch & 1 dinner].
Day 16, 17 & 18: Feb 17, 18 & 19, 2026: Western Australia
The next few days we will tour Western Australia, which exports about 90% of its grain products to over 30 countries. Enjoy a tour of Princess Royal Harbour with views to King George Sound and the Southern Ocean. Tour of the CBH Grain Export Terminal serviced by a dedicated rail freight line. Visit the unique Timber Museum to view the history of the timber industry in this region. Visit to an orchard and packing shed facility. Enjoy a tree top walk in the Valley of the Giants nestled amongst the tallest hardwood trees in the world. You will also visit the most south westerly point of Australia and see where the Indian and Great Southern oceans meet. See the unique lighthouse and historic watershed. Arrive to the Margaret River wine region, internationally known for its quality red and white wines. So many amazing sights to see these days! [B daily/1 lunch & 1 dinner]
Day 19: Feb 20, 2026: Perth
Follow the coastline north this morning with the Jarrah forests alongside. Continue to Bunbury, the commercial center for the south west and major port for the region. Visit a large scale family operated dairy farm. Later on travel back to Perth. Overnight at an airport hotel. [B]
Day 20: Feb 21, 2026: End of Tour
Flights back to North America. Since you cross back over the International Date Line again, you arrive back in North America this same day. [B/IFM]
