Day 01: Thu: Feb 14, 2019: ADELAIDE*
Arrive into the city of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia.  Adelaide is simply enchanting, with a treasure trove of shopping, fine arts, and outdoor activity.  After a city tour, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.
*Airfare into Adelaide is at an additional cost.

Day 02: Fri: Feb 15, 2019: ADELAIDE / COOBER PEDY
This morning, board a flight to Coober Pedy, the opal capital of the world as it produces more opal than any other place in the world.  Situated 846 km north of Adelaide, Coober Pedy is renowned for its below-ground residences, called "dugouts", which are built in this fashion due to the scorching daytime heat.  The landscape features waste that is excavated from opal mines and opal mining  machinery silhouetted against the horizon. Check into an underground hotel for a 2-night stay. [B/D]

Day 03: Sat: Feb 16, 2019: COOBER PEDDY
Coober Pedy gives a new meaning to the word ‘Downunder”.  On the surface, the place looks pretty deserted with just a few hotels, randomly placed old mining equipment, a golf course and no grass.  In fact, around 3,500 people live there and 60 %  live below the surface in homes burrowed out of caves.  The tour today visits underground homes, churches, Museum and mine. At an abandoned opal field, fossick for your own opal.   In the afternoon, head out of town to view the moon-like landscape, the “Dog Fence”, that  stretches across Australia and the “Mica Fields”.  Return to your hotel later in the afternoon.  [B/L]

Day 04: Sun: Feb 17, 2019: COOBER PEDDY / KANGAROO ISLAND
Departing from the starkness of Coober Pedy fly to lush and picturesque “Kangaroo Island”.  Off shore 112 km southwest of Adelaide, it is ‘just across the water but a world away’. There really are not  enough adjectives to accurately describe the beauty of  Kangaroo Island.  It is an island with 509 km of coastline of pristine beaches, with native bushland,  wildlife, adventure & exploring. And the sunsets can take your breath away.  Check into hotel for a  2-night stay. [B/D]

Day 05: Mon: Feb 18, 2019: KANGAROO ISLAND
Explore the natural highlights and wildlife of Kangaroo Island today.  Admire the playful fur seal colony at the “Seal Bay Conservation Park”.  Join a knowledgeable National Park ranger for a stroll along the beach, keeping an eye out for wild          Australian sea lions. Stop for a delicious two-course lunch at “Vivonne Bay Bistro”, located in the beautiful Australian bush land. Afterwards, walk among the eucalyptus trees, keeping an eye out for koalas at “Hanson Bay Sanctuary”.  In the afternoon, encounter Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas at “Flinders Chase National Park”. Tour the park and walk along the rugged southern coastline. Admire the beauty of the majestic “Remarkable Rocks” and then enjoy the “Admirals Arch Boardwalk”, a natural nursery and safe haven for fur seals. Return to your hotel for the night. [B/L]

Day 06: Tue: Feb 19, 2019:  KANGAROO ISLAND / MELBOURNE / GELONG
After breakfast,  transfer to the airport for a flight into the city of Melbourne.  Here you are met by  a local guide and taken to the Gelong area for a   2-night stay.  Gelong is a port city 75 km south west of Melbourne. Tour in the area then enjoy a wonderful dinner at one of the numerous wineries found around Gelong.  [B/D]

Day 07: Wed: Feb 20, 2019: GELONG/ GREAT OCEAN ROAD
Today is a travel day as you drive “The Great Ocean Road” an “Australian National Heritage” listed road on the southwestern coastline of    Australia.  Built by returned soldiers and then dedicated to those men and women who lost their lives in WWI, this road is the world’s largest war memorial.  Winding through a variety of terrain, there are several prominent landmarks such as the “Twelve Apostle” limestone rock formations.  After a great day of viewing and visiting different landmarks, return to Gelong for the night. [B/L]

Day 08: Thu: Feb 21, 2019: GELONG / HOBART, TASMANIA
This morning you return to the Melbourne airport and fly to Hobart in Tasmania for a 3-night stay.  Tasmania is an island state located 240 km to the south of the Australian mainland and separated by the Bass Strait. The city of Hobart is the capital and largest city on this island state. This evening enjoy a seafood dinner at the waterfront.  [B/D]

Day 09: Fri: Feb 22, 2019: HOBART / PORT ARTHUR / HOBART
After breakfast at the hotel start out on a tour of Hobart and region.  Founded in 1804 as a penal colony, Hobart is Australia's second oldest capital city after Sydney, and dates to its foundation as a British colony in 1804.  A scenic tour will take you for a visit to the former convict settlement of Port Arthur, offering an insight into Australia’s convict history. The vast complex is now both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Tasmania’s most visited tourist attraction.  Return to Hobart for the night. [B]

Day 10: Sat: Feb 23, 2019: HOBART / BRUNY ISLAND / HOBART
The tour today is a food lovers delight. After a 15-minute ferry crossing  will arrive onto “Bruny Island”, off the southern coast of Tasmania. Start touring with a visit to “Bruny Island Cheese Company”.  Learn the art of cheese making then share platters of cheeses and taste hand-crafted ale. Next up is a visit to “Get Shucked Oysters” and enjoy half a dozen oysters freshly shucked.  From here you travel to “Bruny Island Berry Farm” for a stroll through the berry fields and enjoy a berry inspired morning ‘tea’.  Walk along a spectacular white-sand beach and enter an    ancient reserve, and look for rare white wallabies.  At “Bruny Island Premium Wines” enjoy lunch accompanied by wine but be sure to save room for homemade chocolates at “Bruny Island Chocolate Company”.  There are more sweet treats to come with a stop at “Bruny Island Honey for a taste of their produce. Conclude your food journey with a glass of award-winning Tasmanian whiskey from the “Bruny Island House of  Whisky”.  Take the ferry  back to Hobart for the night.  [B/L]

Day 11: Sun: Feb 24, 2019: HOBART / MELBOURNE
This morning following breakfast, transfer to the Hobart airport for a flight back to Melbourne. Following a city tour, check into a hotel with the afternoon to explore on your own.  This evening enjoy a “Farewell Dinner” on the  historic “Tram Car 5-Star Restaurant.”  [B/D]
