Upon arrival at the Venice Airport, meet with your tour manager. Spend three unforgettable days discovering the magic of Venice and the Venetian Lagoon. Explore the heart of Venice with its maze of narrow streets, picturesque canals and historic bridges, including magnificent St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the famous Bridge of Sighs. Enjoy time to wander the charming streets, browse local shops, relax at a canal-side café or perhaps experience a traditional gondola ride. During our stay, we also travel by boat across the Venetian Lagoon to the colourful island of Burano, renowned for its brightly painted fishermen’s houses, peaceful canals and centuries-old tradition of handmade lace. With time to explore its colourful streets and artisan shops, Burano provides a delightful contrast to the grandeur of Venice and completes two wonderful days experiencing one of Italy’s most unique and beautiful destinations. Day 05: Oct 17, 2027 - Venice - Board Ship
Free morning before taking a water taxi to the port of Venice and embarkation on the Star Explorer the newest ship with Windstar Cruises. Be among the first guests abord our newest addition to the Windstar fleet! With just 224 guests and 112 suites, Star Explorer is an intimate all-suite yacht small enough to reach places larger vessels can't. Take some time to become familiar with the ship and enjoy its relaxed atmosphere before gathering on deck as we begin our Mediterranean adventure. Star Explorer departs Venice at 6:00 PM, beginning our journey along the beautiful Adriatic and Dalmatian coasts. [B/L/D]

Day 06: Oct 18, 2027: Rovinj, Croatia from 8am till 4pm
This morning we arrive in Rovinj, one of Croatia’s most picturesque coastal towns. Its colourful buildings rise from the waterfront beneath the prominent Church of St. Euphemia, while narrow cobblestone streets wind through the historic Old Town. Enjoy time exploring its charming squares, small shops, galleries and cafés while experiencing the relaxed atmosphere of Croatia’s beautiful Istrian Peninsula. [B/L/D onboard cruise]

Day 07: Oct 19, 2027: Split, Croatia from 8am till 5pm
Our journey continues to Split, a fascinating city where ancient Roman history blends seamlessly with modern Croatian life. At its heart is the remarkable Diocletian’s Palace, constructed for the Roman emperor around the beginning of the 4th century and today filled with narrow streets, shops, cafés and historic buildings. Explore the atmospheric Old Town and enjoy a stroll along Split’s lively waterfront promenade before returning to Star Explorer. [B/L/D onboard cruise]

Day 08: Oct 20, 2027: Dubrovnik, Croatia from 8am till 10pm
Today we have an extended visit to magnificent Dubrovnik, often called the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Surrounded by impressive medieval stone walls and overlooking the brilliant blue Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is one of Europe’s most memorable historic cities. Discover the pedestrian streets and squares of the UNESCO-listed Old City, admire its churches, palaces and fountains, or walk a portion of the famous city walls for spectacular views. Our late departure provides the opportunity to experience Dubrovnik into the evening. [B/L/D onboard cruise]

Day 09: Oct 21, 2027: Kotor, Montenegro from 8am till 5pm
Sail into the spectacular Bay of Kotor, surrounded by dramatic mountains and beautiful coastal scenery. The fortified Old Town of Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with winding medieval lanes, charming squares, historic churches and centuries-old stone buildings. Spend time discovering this wonderfully preserved town or simply relax at one of its cafés and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Montenegro before sailing away this afternoon. [B/L/D onboard cruise]

Day 10: Oct 22, 2027: Day at Sea
Today is ours to relax and enjoy a leisurely day aboard Star Explorer as we cruise south through the Mediterranean. Take advantage of the ship’s amenities, enjoy the passing sea views from the deck, visit the spa, relax with a good book or simply enjoy the personalized service and intimate atmosphere for which Windstar is known. This morning we arrive at Giardini Naxos, our gateway to the spectacular Sicilian town of Taormina. Perched high above the Ionian Sea, Taormina is known for its breathtaking coastal views, elegant streets and remarkable ancient Greek-Roman theatre. On a clear day, the imposing Mount Etna provides an unforgettable backdrop. Day 12: Oct 24, 2027: Sorrento, Italy from 8am till 4pm
Arrive in beautiful Sorrento, dramatically positioned on cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples. Explore its lively historic centre, picturesque streets, shops and cafés while enjoying wonderful views across the bay toward Mount Vesuvius. Sorrento is also a gateway to some of southern Italy’s most celebrated destinations, including Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Return to Star Explorer this afternoon for our final evening aboard. Full day to explore Rome on your own. During your free time in Rome, wander the charming streets of the Trastevere neighborhood for local shops and authentic trattorias. Visit the iconic Trevi Fountain and toss a coin for good luck, or enjoy people-watching in the lively Piazza Navona. If you're craving art and history, explore the Pantheon or step inside St. Peter’s Basilica in nearby Vatican City. Don’t forget to indulge in a creamy gelato or a classic espresso at a café along the way. [B]
