Many destinations show you the past, but this cruise to the Persian Gulf region shows you the past and the future, navigating between the two. Arrive in Dubai, a city that strives to be bigger, better, and bolder than anywhere else, for the start of your land tour. Visit a camel dairy and market, overnight in the heart of the desert. Board the 5-Star cruise in Muscat, Oman and discover Abu Dhabi and Doha with their ultramodern skyscrapers, museums and Michelin-starred restaurants. Don’t miss the covered passageways of Doha’s magical Souq Waqif where something amazing waits around every corner: the gold souq, the falcon souq, heritage police mounted on dazzling Arabian horses. You can see Doha’s souq at its evening best when friends gather at cafes and restaurants to dine or play backgammon. Discover Oman with its 17th century honey-colored forts, spectacular fjords, and Bedouin mountain villages hiding secret jade oases. Get a henna tattoo. Go 4-wheeling in the dunes. SCUBA dive the Strait of Hormuz. See mosques so beautiful they take your breath away, and an island that’s an ark for endangered Arabian wildlife. This departure will be hosted by David & Brenda Layden, from Select Holidays.
