Day 01: Tue. Feb 13, 2024: ARRIVE PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Afternoon arrival in Perth, located in Western Australia’s south. Meet your local tour guide, who has agricultural knowledge and experience and will be with you for the duration of the tour. Private coach transfer to your well-located accommodation in Fremantle, where you will stay for 2-nights. Enjoy some time to relax before re-grouping this evening for a welcome dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. [D]

Day 02: Wed. Feb 14, 2024: PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
There will be a city coach tour of Perth. Lunch at Botanical Cafe, Kings Park, overlooking the Swan River and the city of Perth. Take a relaxing cruise on the Swan River back to Fremantle. Spend some time at the WA Maritime Museum, where you will see significant historic objects and vessels that highlight WA’s sporting, sailing and adventure heritage. Make your own way back to the hotel at leisure. Dinner this evening will be at a nearby restaurant. [B/L/D]

Day 03: Thu. Feb 15, 2024: PERTH - YORK, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Visit the Geraldton Fishermen’s Cooperative (GFC) at Welshpool for a guided tour of this facility. Operating since 1950, GFC are global leaders in rock lobster processing and exportation. The GFC operates sustainably, with its fishermen ensuring the preservation and continuity of the fishery. Departing Perth, there will be a guided tour at the Metro Grain Centre at Forrestfield - a world class grain handling complex – connected by road and rail with the port in Fremantle. It has a total storage capacity of 223,785 tonnes. Also visit their nearby grain technology centre, Australian Grains Centre (AGC), which has the capacity to provide full laboratory analysis for WA produced grains. Travel on to Northam to visit a family business established to manufacture agricultural machinery. The owner has an extensive and interesting history as a farmer and started this very successful business in 1989. Arrive in the historic town of York. Check in to your accommodation for a 1-night stay. [B/L/D]

Day 04: Fri. Feb 16, 2024: YORK - KUKERIN, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Travel through mixed farming country of livestock and broad acre cropping. Visit a mixed cropping and sheep enterprise at Pingelly to see and discuss wool production and cropping practice in this district. Spend some time at a hay processing plant at Wagin. The company is a premier exporter of quality Australian hay, straw and feed pellets to dairy and beef industries across East Asia and China. Travel east to Kukerin, where a visit will be made to Cambinata Yabbies, one of the most successful producers of this unique freshwater crustacean. Cambinata operates Australia’s largest yabby processing plant, supplying product to some of West Australia’s finest restaurants, as well as exporting to the US, Europe and Asia. Tonight’s accommodation is in the on farm accommodation established by the owners of Cambinata Yabbies. Some members of this 4th generation farming family will join you tonight for dinner, which will include a sample of the Cambinata Yabbies. [B/L/D]

Day 05: Sat. Feb 17, 2024: KUKERIN - ALBANY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
This morning after breakfast continue the journey south. Visit a prime lamb and sheep breeding operation with a lamb feedlot, as well as a grain mill, and impressive flock of Merino, Dorper and other breeds used for their artificial breeding centre (AI and ET). Lunch at the West Cape Howe Winery – one of the premier wine makers in Western Australia. This afternoon, visit one of the most impressive Gelbvieh cattle studs in the country with time to observe livestock and discuss management objectives with the owners. Later travel on to the historic port city and old whaling station of Albany (the state’s first settlement), to check-in to your hotel. [B/L/D]

Day 06: Sun. Feb 18, 2024: ALBANY - BRUSSELTON, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Depart westwards with a brief stop in Denmark and then on to the spectacular Valley of the Giants, for a self-guided walk on the elevated walkways through the treetops. Near Pemberton there will be a visit to an avocado orchard and packing shed. This family owned and operated business has been growing world-class avocados since 2000, supplying markets in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. Their 110ha orchard is one of the best in Australia and the Hass avocado they produce is amongst the highest quality in the world. Afternoon arrival in the town of Busselton. The Busselton beachfront features the 19th century Busselton Jetty. At 1.8 kilometres long, it is the longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy a return train trip along the famous Busselton Jetty to the Underwater Observatory to see the coral reef. Check into your beachside resort for a 1-night stay. Busselton is located on the southwest tip of Western Australia. [B/L/D]

Day 07: Mon. Feb 19, 2024: BRUSSELTON - PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Travel to the nearby Margaret River region. Visit a locally owned and operated business that creates specific feed for chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, sheep, venison, ostrich, cattle, camels & horses. Visit the retail shop of the Margaret River Venison Farm - WA’s largest and oldest Venison farm – rearing Red Deer (Venison) with the original bloodlines reaching back to England and Scotland. Receive a presentation on the farming of venison and the business from owner. Margaret River is home to some of Australia’s most remarkable wines and spectacular vineyards. Visit a winery for lunch and a wine tasting. Travel north to Perth and check in to accommodation in the city for a 1-night stay. Farewell dinner this evening. [B/L/D]

Day 08: Tue. Feb 20, 2024: END OF TOUR
Breakfast in the hotel. Private coach transfer to Perth Airport for homeward flight. [B]
