Itinerary
Day 1: September 20, 2023: DEPART NORTH AMERICA for ROME, ITALY [IFM]
Your journey begins with an overnight flight from North America that will take you to Rome, Italy.
Day 2: September 21, 2023: ARRIVE ROME, ITALY for two night stay [IFM]
Mid-morning arrival into Rome with a transfer to hotel for a two-night stay.
Day 3: September 22, 2023: ROME, ITALY
A day to explore Rome either on an optional tour OR as you please.
Day 4: September 23, 2023: TUSCAN VILLA, ITALY [D]
Transfer to the Tuscany region near Val d’Orcia, for a 7-night stay at the private villa, with a “Welcome Dinner” this evening.
Day 5: September 24, 2023: VILLA / POGGIO GRANDE WINES / BAGNO VIGNONI [B/L/D]
Depart the villa at 10:00 am with a guide to visit the village of San Quirico d’Orcia followed by visit to the winery “Poggio Grande”. For more than a century the Zamperini family has dedicated themselves to the farm, retaining the old farming traditions in the breeding and cultivation and care of the vineyards, olive trees and woods surrounding the farm. Wine tasting including a lunch of prosciutto dry cured ham and pecorino hard cheese. Return to the villa later in the afternoon for happy hour and dinner.
Day 6: September 25, 2023: VILLA /MONTALCINO & BRUNELLO WINES [B/L/D]
As you are visiting this area during the last of the wine harvest, a morning visit to “Brunello Wines” in Montalcino has been arranged. This includes a tour, tasting and lunch. It is here you will also visit a historic monastery, built in 814AD before returning to the villa for happy hour later in the afternoon and dinner.
Day 7: September 26, 2023: VILLA / PIENZA [B/L/D]
This morning a cooking class at the villa where you can partake in learning Italian cooking with our villa chef. After lunch from what you made during your cooking class this morning, visit to the historical hilltop town of Pienza. In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley of Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Landscapes. Return to the villa later in the afternoon for happy hour and dinner.
Day 8: September 27, 2023: VILLA / FLORENCE [B/D]
Today your travels take you into the heart of Tuscany to visit the city of Florence, the capital city of the region. A walking tour will acquaint you with some of the many highlights the city has to offer plus give you time to explore on your own. The city is an UNESCO site and attracts millions of visitors each year. Return to villa later in the afternoon for happy hour and dinner.
Day 9: September 28, 2023: VILLA / MONTEPULCIANO [B/L/D]
Following breakfast at the villa, depart for the hill top village of Montepulciano. Here, you tour the town and have wine tasting of their local wines plus lunch. There will be time to explore and /or shop before returning to the villa later in the afternoon. Enjoy happy hour and dinner at the villa this evening.
Day 10: September 29, 2023: VILLA / MONTISI [B/L/D]
This morning you depart the villa and go to the local village of Montisi to learn about the process of making Olive Oil and taste some of the great oils that come from the region. Here you enjoy lunch and have time to admire and perhaps shop at some of the many local crafts and markets that will be on display along the streets. Return to the villa for happy hour and dinner.
Day 11: September 30, 2023: VILLA / VENICE [B/L]
Unfortunately, your time at the villa has come to an end. Travel by First-Class train to Venice, Italy for a three-night stay, along the Grand Canal. Upon arrival into Venice, take a private water-taxi to your hotel located along the Grand Canal in central Vencie for a 3-night stay.
Day 12: October 01, 2023: VENICE/MURANO/BURANO/VENICE [B/L]
Private water taxi for excursion to Murano to visit the glass blowing factory. Then a tour of Burano including lunch along its quaint streets. This afternoon return to Venice.
Day 13: October 02, 2023: VENICE [B]
Free day to explore the heart of Venice on your own. As your hotel is only steps from the central piazza and Mark’s Square, there will be time to relax, enjoy a coffee or take in some amazing shopping.
Day 14: October 03, 2023: END OF TOUR [B/IFM]
After breakfast, a private water taxi to the Venice airport for your return flight back to North America.
